The "girls" get ALL the attention!
Quite the day!

My husband Rob, drove me to St Vincents Hospital. We arrived a little early as I hate to rush. Up to Level 2, Suite 14 to Women’s Imaging - Radiology and now to wait.
I was getting a little impatient I will admit, just wanting to get on with it all. Of course there were forms to fill out, I don’t know why I was even slightly surprised by that. But, eventually they called my name and in I went. First step - mammogram.
From here I moved to another room where I was greeted by the greatest lady and she would be doing the ultra-sound. I shared with her that I only do positive and no details, just the plan. Whether she agreed or not was beside the point, she supported and respected my view. I instantly relaxed and when I shared this with the doctor, he was also 100% supportive and onboard. Their understanding and respect made all the difference.
Then came the biopsies. One planned biopsy somehow turned into three, because apparently I’m an overachiever, even in medical procedures. But the whole time, the conversation was light, funny, and surprisingly stress free for a situation involving needles and my boobs [aka "the girls]. Just under three hours later, we were done.
Now, the moment they said “three biopsies,” I knew it wasn’t going to be benign. That intrusive thought sat there the entire drive home. But that’s all it was — a thought. My thought. And I get to decide whether I let it run the show or park it until I speak with the specialist. And since I knew that referral was coming....parked!!
